Amazing Cosmetics' Amazing Concealer - Reviewed and Swatched

Amazing-Cosmetics-Amazing-Concealer-Reviewed-and-Swatched

The Amazing Cosmetics' Amazing Concealer is a product I've been after for ages. When Sephora started shipping to the UK it was the first thing I wanted to get but they'd sold out of the shades I thought would match my skin tone. And the reason for my longing?  It's been dubbed the 'magic eraser' by top Hollywood make up artists.

So, does it live up to the hype and is it suitable for (slightly) older women? Thankfully, the answer is a resounding yes on both counts as it's so disappointing when something you've been yearning to try for years turns out to be a dud.

The first test for any concealer is does it conceal. This may sound silly but they're plenty of concealers out there that should be done under the trade descriptions act. Amazing Concealer is so pigmented you actually only need a pin dot sized amount to cover minor imperfections but it's buildable if more is needed for bigger blemishes etc. Also, it doesn't perform a disappearing act within 5 minutes of applying. It sets and stays put for about 5 hours on me, which is pretty good going.

The next test for a concealer is does it cake, crack, dry skin out, settle into fine lines/pores and emphasise them and Amazing Concealer passed this test with flying colours. It's described as having an emollient texture and it really is creamy and moist for a product with so much pigment and staying power. It's also very easy to blend which leads to a natural finish.

Other things worth knowing are that It's a multi-purpose concealer as it works on dark circles, broken capillaries, rosacea, sun damage, blemishes etc. It's also water resistant. The tube comes in two sizes, 10ml for £19.50 and 15ml for £29.50 and is available in 10 shades which range from light beige to dark caramel. The shade I tested was Fair Golden, which is pale but with skin-warming light peach undertones.

I'm absolutely delighted that M&S Beauty is stocking this range as not only is it a great product but it demonstrates how serious M&S are about catering for beauty aficionados. While I'm sure M&S don't need any advice from me about what to consider next here are my top tips anyway: Bite Beauty make really lovely lip products, the MDSolarSciences range of sun protection products are top notch and the Asian brand Laneige, that's now stocked at Target in the US, looks very interesting indeed.

Amazing Concealer is available to buy online from Marks and Spencer.

    1. Hi Millie, In my view it's definitely a cut above the rest. Also, as it comes in a good range of shades, it's likely that you'll find one to match to your skin tone. Concealer that stands out because it's a different colour to the rest of your face kind of defeats the point of using it in the first place! xx
